Where Once There Were Horses

Under a full moon in a midnight-blue sky, the shadows of three horses cross fields in front of a cottage. Original painting.

Story: I saw them the first time I approached the house, just for an instant. The second I blinked, they were gone, shadows that melted into the night sky. But that moment was enough for me to know that I had found the right place. I'd been looking for a home that would inspire me. And here, even after all these years, I see them from time to time when I look out of the window at night, my kindred spirits, wild and free, galloping away under the moon. Just a glimpse of them makes my heart soar with a sense that anything really is possible. I live where once there were horses. It feels right.
