When All the Planes Come Home

A young couple look up at a plane flying over the park where they walk. Original painting.

Story: Do you remember when we looked up at the sky and dreamed? We'd catch a glimpse of a plane and make up a destination. It could be a place we'd seen in films or read about in books, or somewhere that was only familiar to us as a dot on the map on our kitchen wall. And we promised ourselves that one day we'd go there. Now we've seen the sun rise over vast oceans and watched it set behind majestic mountain peaks. We've made memories in every one of those places that was once just a promise. Planes still fly over this little park, but now we think only of one destination. Love gave us great adventures, but now it has carried us home.
