Story: They came to see a star of screen on stage, the household name spelled out in lights on the marquee, full of anticipation. And then, the announcement. Today, the role of Maxi will be played by.... And so she steps out on to the stage on the crest of their wave of disappointment, determined to change the tide of feeling, to give the performance of her life.

She sets aside who she isn't and calls on everything she is, no attempt to fill big shoes but a quiet resolve to wear shoes that fit. And she soars.

Curtain call and they are on their feet, and she hears it over crashing applause, just a whisper, but audible nonetheless: 'Did you catch her name?' And she knows that this is her moment.

So many times you find yourself on a path through life that's well trodden, littered with the footprints of those who've travelled that way before. Don't let that trouble you or distract you from your journey. Instead, find your own way through, and soar.
