Ordinary Street, Ordinary Day

On a street lined with town houses, an Edwardian gentleman doffs his hat and offers a posy to his sweetie. Original painting.

Story: I am a man of few words. In matters of business, this presents no problem, for I deal mostly in numbers, and they have a way of speaking for themselves. However, where you are concerned, I wish I might be, even for just a few moments, one of those for whom words flow like water. Even as you are walking along the street towards me, I find myself with a million things I wish to say, yet bereft of the ability to express them. The posy I hold today is small, and even as I doff my hat to you, I know it is inadequate. But it is my sincere hope that you will feel the sentiment behind it, that it will give you a sense that on this ordinary street, on this ordinary day, this ordinary man loves you in an extraordinary way.
